To help us keep on top of things (if you have not already done so), fill out the Adult Volunteer Training Record, save it with your name on it, and email a copy to christopherdeis@gmail.com (Committee Chair). If you have already taken training, please make sure your online record at http://myscouting.org reflects that training correctly. If you need more information, want to explore options or have questions, contact Christopher Deis at 614.753.5106.
BSA Merit Badge Counselor Application – People who want to be counselors are our most valuable asset in making a customized Scout program fitting each boy. Here’s the form you’ll have to complete and give to the Council. Ask us about how this works. Youth protection training is required for each merit badge counselor, so plan an hour for this too. We also have tips for Exceptional Merit Badge Counseling, so you can see how straightforward this is.
Scouting America national e-learning programs (you’ll need your registration number to use this site, and it’s best viewed in Internet Explorer with a high-speed internet connection):
BSA Safe Scouting online, to prepare for each event
Youth protection training, including a link to record your training with the Council
Safe Swim Defense & Safety Afloat, with a provision to produce a card to carry
Planning and Preparing for Hazardous Weather, because tour permits require that at least one adult must have passed this training e-course provided by National BSA.
